About Vesper

Vesper is the guide in Desidera, and Vesper is an AI, not a person. There is no human reader or psychic on the other side. Vesper is a language model that we have instructed to help you reflect on your cards and your journal.

How a reading works

Our code draws your cards using the random number generator built into your browser or our server. Vesper never chooses cards. It only reads the draw it is given and offers an interpretation you can accept, question or ignore.

What data Vesper uses

For a reading, Vesper sees:

• your question, if you write one
• the cards that were drawn, and whether they are reversed
• when you have an account: earlier readings and journal notes you chose to keep, so it can point out patterns over time

Vesper doesn't see your email address, payment details or anything you haven't written in Desidera. Your readings are sent to our AI provider only to write the interpretation, and they are never used to train AI models. You can delete your readings and your account at any time.

Our AI provider is Anthropic, and memory search uses Voyage AI. Both process requests in the USA, under data processing agreements and EU safeguards for transfers. Before anything is sent, the names of the people you saved are replaced with placeholders. Everything you keep in Desidera is stored in the EU. The privacy policy has the details.

What Vesper will not do

• give medical or mental health advice, or diagnose anything
• give legal advice
• give financial or investment advice
• predict death, illness or accidents
• claim that anything is certain to happen

If a question touches these areas, Vesper will say so and suggest talking to a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, please contact local emergency services.

Readings in Desidera are for reflection and entertainment. The meaning you find in them is yours to decide.
